The implementation of an integrated Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health (QUENSH) management system is the foundation to establish a company culture centred upon continual improvement. The QUENSH management system is based upon the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO/TS 16949:2009, BS EN ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007, all of which we hold.

The company is committed to compliance with legislation, regulations and other requirements relevant to the business, including statutory guidance and industry best practice. Top management will formulate objectives at least annually during management reviews and will ensure their routine monitoring, measurement and achievement.
SMC is committed to protecting the environment. The company is committed to:

- Evaluating environmental aspects and impacts when considering new plant, equipment or processes.
- Prevention of pollution.
- Management of the safe and effective disposal of waste materials and hazardous waste through approved agencies.

- Provide plant and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health.
- Provide safe handling and transport of articles and equipment.
- Provide comprehensive information, instruction, training and supervision, ensuring in so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of every employee.
- Maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, a safe and risk free site, and provide safe means of access to and egress from workplace areas within the site.
- Provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment with adequate welfare facilities and arrangements.
- Ensure all employees and contractors working on our behalf are actively encouraged to contribute towards achieving our policy commitments.
